The main parts of the engine are in cast pewter, with the engine pipes and accessories fabricated with silver solder in nickel silver.  The three castings that form the cylinder head are soft soldered together, the remainder of the engine is assembled with threaded items. 2 extended spark plugs bolt the cylinder head to the crank case and 4 knurled hand screws hold the rocker covers in place.
